FINDING LOST ART: The worst part of shooting a lot of pictures is that you loose track of them. This one is from the "Negative Vault" T-Max 400.... can you say "a blast from the past." Any way this is my kids, (Andi, Leo and Jewel - the dog) with their Uncle randi near the Delaware River. Great memory in B&W.

Making a Picture

I used to have an editor that would tell me, "Go make me a picture!" Now Ms Reid was a lovely woman. When I first met her she was an icon, in her 70's and very sharp. She did not want just a photo, she wanted a picture.

Sometimes that is just what we have to do... make a picture. These photos illustrate a picture made today as I participated in Scott Kelby's WorldWide PhotoWalk.

At first the mannequin and T-Shirt caught my eye... click. As I was shooting it I noticed the pinkish mannequin in the background. I backed of the 17-50 lens... click. Then I noticed the flag blowing above it... click. The wind stopped. Then it started and I shot just the flagged... click. I started to walk away, looked back and it was really flying, so I decided to try it again... click, click, click.

A picture was made.

Obama & Spock

Photo Safari's... That's what I call going out hunting for images. This image is one of those.

On the way to Miami we spent an afternoon and nught in Savannah, GA. While my daughter shopped at Urban Outfitters, I was hunting for images.

Clothing, mannequins, scarfs....I was on a hunt. I worked myself up to the second floor where large windows flooded the large room with great diffused light. And there on a table I found Obama!

When you get a "BoobleHead," made of you, you have arrived. And as you know he has! The only problem was that his head was busted and crooked. I looked and decided to pass on him.... Until I saw Dr. Spock!

Well all I had to do then was , look for a nice background, un-package them, photograph them and pretend that it was all natural as others where walking by me saying "That's cool!"

Sometimes you just have to keep on looking and the picture will come to you.

DC to Miami & Back

We'll it's time to begin blogging. I just wished I had the time to do it. But I will try. I remember telling an editor once, "I'm the photographer not the writer..." Now we are all writing.

This blog will become an outlet for images, shot for fun, to become visible. For years the talk has gonen like this, " Whatever happened to the photos that you took...." Well here they are.

Small talk, fun images. Enjoy

Here is an abstract view of our family trip to Miami & back.
